How to Get More Vintage Sales on Etsy Part 2 of 6

I would love to get more vintage Etsy sales and I hope you do too. Last week we learned about whether or not those who are in the upper echelon of vintage sellers on Etsy do craft and /or vintage fairs, have a business Facebook page and whether or not they blog or advertise on other blogs (if you missed Part 1, please click here to read more about it). This week, we tackle ads and apps.

Do you pay for Google Ads or Etsy Ads and do you use any Etsy Apps?

Stacy from Vintage Jane said “I do pay for Etsy ads only.”

Laura from Peachy Chic Boutique said she uses the Etsy coupon code feature from time to time.

Susan from Callooh Callay does not pay for any ads, but does use the app called “Shmetsy” for making Treasury Lists.

Analysis: Interestingly, most DO NOT pay for ads or use Etsy apps. None of the participants interviewed used the Etsy On Sale app.

How often do you list your items on Etsy?

Gina from Rusty Secrets said “I continually try to list items or renew items on a regular basis (hopefully every day, but sometimes I am unable to do that). If something is in my shop for a long time I mark it down substantially and renew the listing, then it usually sells. This tells me my price was too high.”

Stacy from Vintage Jane said “I try to list several items several times a week”

Laura from Peachy Chic Boutique said “I list items on Etsy as often as possible - everyday if I can. During my first Christmas season, I had up to 260 products listed!...I have never gotten back to that number, either I sell, or items expire...so I'm always trying to build that number. When sales are slow is a good time to work on more listings.”

Susan from Callooh Callay said “Right now I don't have time to do much, but in a normal month I list probably four or five days a week (so maybe five to 10 items a week).”

Cindy from Two Dog Vintage said “I list or renew 5 items per day in my vintage shop and 2 per day in my art shop.”

Analysis: This is a great category to analyze! From what I can gather, relisting “several times per week” works best and everyday is even better. I know personally, I relist when I have time which sometimes equates to once a week. Here is an area I can do better with!  What about you?

Next week, we will look at packaging and involvement with the Etsy community – do these two things help produce more sales?

Please visit The Gypsy Chix Company on Etsy for all your vintage needs!

When you buy at item from the The Gypsy Chix Company, my sincere hope is that it brings back fond memories of a more simple time.  If I am having a bad day, all I have to do is walk into an antique or vintage store and my spirits are instantly lifted. All of the modern day stress instantly leaves as I take a leisurely stroll back in time.

So -- sit back and relax and take a stroll through The Gypsy Chix Company.

I hope you find something that makes you smile and of course it's even better if it's something you can't live without :)

Hi Tammy,
Thanks for the feature! It was interesting reading the comments of other sellers. I'm sure I'll garner some new ideas for my shop from reading the interviews.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the posts!
Cheers,

Chalkboard Painted Vase

I had a can of chalkboard paint lying around and I decided to make a little chalkboard paint vase.  I picked up this little gem from the thrift store for $1.99.  It’s pale green in color.  I like the dark black chalkboard paint against the light color of the vase. Who is Minnie? Minnie is my cute little grand-pup (on the right side of the doggie pic below). Who is Karl? He is the big golden retriever who lives behind us.  They bark at each other all the time – it’s so darn cute! I couldn’t get a good picture of Minnie and Karl together, so Lola had to do. Lola is the puppy my daughter fostered for 3 weeks – isn’t she super adorable? Seriously, super adorable!  Lola was about 6 weeks old in this picture and Minnie is 3. Minnie thought she was getting a sister....but Lola adopted out quickly.  Imagine that! Linking up with: Someday Crafts

I Tried Insanity!

Picture Credit: http://www.nike.com/nikewomen/content/collection/modules/favourites/products/lookbook_homepage_nike_free_high.jpg OK, not the whole program, but I tried the first DVD :) I’ve always been into fitness. I’m a regular subscriber to the magazine called “Fitness” I have a YMCA membership and I have a small home gym in my basement. Just because you have access to all this stuff, doesn’t guarantee that you will work out though. I’m also a sucker for Infomercials. Last year around this time, I bought Zumba – and that craze lasted about a month! Luckily, I was able to re-sell it on EBay right before Christmas for $50, getting most of my original investment back. This brings me to my first fitness tip of the year – if you’re not sure you’ll like a new fitness craze, try to buy it used off EBay or Craig’s List. A few weeks ago, my husband purchased “Insanity” off Craig’s List for $45 and it was still in the shrink wrap (the guy told us that he recently found out he had
